V02 MAX Testing for Endruance Sport Athletes

A VO2 max test is widely accepted as a good measure of cardiovascular fitness and maximum aerobic capacity. Measuring VO2 max is going to tell you what your current oxygen use during exercise is. This important test will set a benchmark of your current fitness level and can determine your aerobic capacity.

Theoretically, the more oxygen you can use during high level exercise, the more ATP or “energy” you can produce. This test is an important first step to a successful training program.

With proper training and coaching our customers are often able to substantially increase their anaerobic threshold and exercise longer at a higher intensity.

To measuring VO2 max accurately all tests are performed under a strict protocol, with direct supervision and will require you to make an all-out physical effort while the volume and oxygen concentration of inhaled and exhaled air is measured.

This test can be performed on a treadmill or your own bicycle to give you an accurate baseline.

Follow-up testing will show your progress and is a great way to gauge aerobic improvement.
